The WPSL is unique in the fact that it is governed by the teams. Each team gets one vote and
decides all issues for the entire league - including fees. Each owner receives a detailed annual
financial report showing where all monies are spent.Anyone can access information about our
league, such as:teams, rosters, statistics, schedules, results, constitution & by-laws, meeting
minutes and latest league news via our official website at www.wpsl.info.

THE WPSL SEASON...
The WPSL season runs from May 1-August 1. There is a National Championship tournament
held the last weekend of July with the location being determined prior to each season, hosted by
a WPSL team. Over the past four seasons, the WPSL Final Four has gone nationwide, being
hosted from Sacramento, CA to western Massachusetts to Tampa Bay, FL to Salt Lake City, UT!
Teams can expect to play 10-16 games during the season.

WPSL MISSION STATEMENT...
The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is an independent national league whose main
focus is on the development of highly competitive women’s soccer teams. The WPSL also makes
every effort to bring quality soccer to all levels of the community and to promote the stature of
female athletes as role models for our youth.

ABOUT THE TEAMS...
The teams in the WPSL have won numerous tournaments & titles including Regional and
National Championships!! Those teams include: Ajax America (2007 U.S. Open Cup), Long
Island Fury, Utah Spiders, Maryland Pride, New England Mutiny, San Diego WFC SeaLions & the
SoccerPlus CT Reds (2007 U-23 Open Cup). There are currently two teams - Ajax & New England
- ranked internationally by an independent service while Long Island & the California Storm (No. 1
in the U.S. in 2004) have also represented themselves in the Top 20 in the world. WPSL teams
are located throughout theUnited States!

A BENEFIT TO COLLEGEPROGRAMS...
The teams are coached by top-notch professionals and are very active & well-respected in their
communities. The great variety of highly-skilled players is what makes the WPSL successful.
WPSL teams roster high school, collegiate, post-collegiate, foreign players & full internationals
every year. College programs & WPSL teams maintain a mutually beneficial relationship! Many
college programs encourage their players to compete in our summer league because it helps
improve & maintain their fitness and skill development for their upcoming fall season. These
players gain tremendous experience playing alongside 2007 Women’s World Cuppartcipants &
full internationals on the level of Daniela (Brazil), Heather Garriock (Australia) & Ouying Zhang
(China); U.S. National Team members like Shannon Boxx, Leslie Osbourne, Lori Chalupny &
Nicole Barnhart and women’s soccer legends like Brandi Chastain & Sissi. Players also gain
valuable experience playing matches against the best teams in the world. Ajax America reached
the final of the 2006 International Club Championship in Seoul, S. Korea while many WPSL
teams have achieved tremendous results against the National Teams of Australia, China, Ghana,
Mexico and yes - even the United States!
